Up and coming enterprise software startup is currently hiring a junior (2-5 years experience) QA Engineer who has worked with a database intensive product. The client is a well regarded content server startup funded by Sequoia Capital and Lehman Brothers. The QA Engineer should have more than just GUI testing experience. Ideally, they should have some scripting experience and ideally some database testing experience. But, more importantly, they should have a strong foundation in QA methodology and has experience/skills to write their own test plans. I don't have any experience programming in javascript or a server-side language, my background is mostly in c++ and flash actionscript 2.0 and very little Java. Would it still be possible to be efficient at the hackathon with my background?

In this role, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and deployment of new features in existing products as well as brand-new products that address the needs of mobile advertisers, publishers, and consumers. This is a fast-paced and cross-functional work environment. You will work closely with product management, business development, and sales to define and realize the future of the mobile web. You will also work closely with your peers in engineering, operations, and research to make sure that your work becomes a high-performance, reliable part of a seamless whole. Qualifications: • Experience with Unix/Linux and object oriented programming.. • A verifiable track record of designing, implementing and shipping high-quality software. Ideally your track record involves large-scale, commercial web and/or mobile applications, but other experience can easily be just as good. • Experience with one or all of PHP, Ruby, MySQL, or Apache.
