Company: Wetpaint
Job Title: QA Engineer
Description: The ideal QA Engineer is a self-starter who works in constant interaction with the QA Manager, developers, designers, and program managers to ensure the quality of new features under development as well as the stability and quality of the currently-live Wetpaint service. This role assumes extensive troubleshooting and problem solving, a detail-oriented outlook, high productivity, and a passion for creating high-quality user experience.
Wetpaint maintains a fast-moving development cycle which allows our developers to concentrate on specific feature improvements rather than large-scale redesigns. This enables our testing to be focused, rather than all-encompassing, and requires that QA be involved from the beginning of the development process. It also requires an in-depth understand of the underlying technologies under development in order to test efficiently and effectively within a short timeframe, usually under changing conditions with little to no notice.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Create, execute, and report on functional, regression, and compatibility test cases.
2. Discover, document, and assist in the resolution of issues.
3. Interact with developers regarding technical and functional behaviors of the features under development.
4. Assist in the development and execution of automated functional and regression testing.
5. Interact with Program Management regarding new and existing features.
6. Interact with Support and customers to resolve customer issues.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
1. Minimum 5 years of QA experience.
2. Minimum 3 years of QA experience in a web application environment.
3. Demonstrable experience with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, AJAX, XML, SQL, SVN, and Apache.
4. QA Leadership experience highly desired.
5. Expert knowledge of browser and OS compatibility issues.
6. Extensive knowledge of Windows, Macintosh and UNIX environments.
7. Proficient in creating and updating web automation cases, preferably with Selenium or other open-source tools.
8. Proficient in writing and executing SQL queries for diagnostic purposes.
9. Proficient in monitoring server logs and server performance characteristics.
10. Experience building, verifying, and deploying web applications to multiple environments.
Wetpaint is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
